Creating a Room
Previous  Next

In My Rooms, under each task, there's a link "Create a new room for this topic". This is what you use to create a room for that certain task. Click the link. A pop-up window appears where you can specify the configurations of the room.

Example: suppose you want to create a room for "A Jar of Coins". After clicking the link "Create a new room for this topic", you will see the window as shown in the above picture. The left side of the window has description for the room types. There are 3 types you could choose from: Open Room, Limited Access Room, or Private Group Room. See Room Types for detailed information.

After choosing the room type you want, you can name the room, put a few words to describe the theme of the room, and the date when you want this room to be scheduled (which doesn't affect when the room appears in the lobby). After you click OK, the room is created. It appears in your My Rooms section under the task it's created for and in other users' Open Rooms or Limited Access depending on the room type.

You can also create a room for your own topic, which is at the end of My Rooms page. (Note: It doesn't allow you to specify a topic here but you could always create a text box in the chat room whiteboard to put your problem/task description if needed.)

Your user name will be printed as the first one on the list of members indicating that you are the owner of the room. The other user names printed right next to your user name shows who else have the permission to access your room.
