    You should follow the Checklist and Pathfinder in the Academic Planning Handbook you received when you started at Drexel. You can access this information online at the Current Students section of the IST Web site, http://www.ischool.drexel.edu, under your degree program.     How important is it to use the Checklist and Pathfinder as guides?
    It is very important that you use the Checklist and Pathfinder as guides for registering. At Drexel you have many academic commitments as well as co-operative educational ones. You want to maximize your time by registering for appropriate courses and maintaining balanced schedules.

    I have misplaced my Checklist and/or Pathfinder. Where can I get copies?
    You may print them off the IST Web site.

    Which classes can I use as electives?
    Generally, an elective is a course that is not otherwise a required part of your curriculum. You may refer to the elective list that can be found on the IST Web site.

    I would like to take on an additional minor as well. What do I do?
    You need to contact the advisement center of the discipline in which you want to minor in. An advisor there will tell you the requirements you need to obtain.

    I want to take courses at another institution. Which ones do I take?
    Before you register for any course at an institution other than Drexel, you should consult with your advisor and then fill out the Transfer credit approval form found online at the Current Students section of the IST Web site, http://www.ischool.drexel.edu, under your degree program and "Useful forms" section.

    How do I get credit for courses I took outside of Drexel?
    You must send an official transcript reflecting the coursework you took. Transfer credit will be given for any pre-approved course for which you received a grade of "C" or better. Consult with your academic advisor for more information.

    Can I take an INDEPENDENT STUDY in Information Systems or Information Technology?
    Independent Study is an elective course in Information Systems or Information Technology taken after the required INFO credits are completed. Students should ask a full-time faculty member to be the supervisor for the project. The student and faculty supervisor together determine the scope, deliverables and credits. An Independent Study Proposal Form found online at the Current Students section of the IST Web site, http://www.cis.drexel.edu, under your degree program and "Useful forms" section. Completed proposal forms must be turned in at least four weeks prior to the start of the term for approval by your academic advisor and the Associate Dean. Students may take a maximum of 6 credits of INFO 399. Academic credit will not be given for technical certification work.

    How do I change majors?
    • Obtain from the "Forms" section of the Student Resource Center (SRC) Web site a change of curriculum form. • Obtain the necessary signatures: - Academic Dean of College or Academic Advisor in which you are currently enrolled - Academic Dean of College or Academic Advisor into which you are transferring - Co-op Coordinator (222 Main Building) - International Office representative (for international students only) - Student Resource Center(SRC), including Financial Aid and Bursar signatures • Form must have all signatures and be left at the Student Resource Center (SRC) no later than the end of the second week of the term in which the change is to take effect.
