Managing Digital Information is rapidly becoming a core skill necessary for all Information Professionals. As a student seeking to become either a Library Information Specialist (LIS) or an Information Specialist (IS); it is vital to understand and know how to manage large bodies of digital information. This web site was designed to provide information on courses at the the iSchool, current research within the domain and a new look at digital information.
The iSchool at Drexel is committed to high-quality teaching and research for (Management of Digital Information). This Management of Digital Information (MDI) covers a wide range of issues including Selection, Organization, Access and Preservation as well as issues of intellectual property rights and ethical issues. To maintain a body of digital objects it is necessary to understand how they will be used, who will use them, what they will be used for and how they will be preserved for future generations.
Digital Artifacts are represented in many forms; from text documents and photographs, to music files, complex multimedia components and even program objects.
