Dr. Weber's main research interests are intelligent systems, case-based reasoning (CBR) research (e.g., textual CBR) and applications and knowledge management (KM). Her work in KM is mainly focused on bringing knowledge-based methodologies and techniques from artificial intelligence to attain organizational goals. She is also interested in using KM principles to help leverage the quality in intelligent systems. More specific techniques she has researched include uncertainty, information extraction, neural networks and genetic algorithms. Some of the domains in which she has worked are software assurance, finance, military, law, bioinformatics and health sciences. Her background is in engineering and business, and her professional experience includes analysis and design of information systems and corporate finance. Dr. Weber's teaching interests include artificial intelligence, knowledge-based systems, decision support systems, knowledge management, and information technology with technological and business perspectives.
