Dr. Song's research focuses on the practical application of modeling theory to real-world problems. His research interests include conceptual modeling, design and performance optimization of data warehousing and OLAP, database support for Web-based systems, object-oriented analysis & design with UML, database technologies for digital forensics, and the modeling & integration of medical & bioinformatic databases. His professional background includes the simulation and development of large-scale software for missile systems. Dr. Song's major teaching interests are database management systems and object-oriented analysis and design.
