Integration of information technology is not just a technical concern. It is also fundamentally an economic concern to the organization considering new information technologies. This course centers on these fundamental financial integration considerations.
Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, a student will be able to:
Articulate the issues of technology integration and economic value to an organization
Examine costs and benefits of technology adoption over time
Apply techniques to analyze cost considerations in selecting IT products and services
Evaluate multiple information technology proposals from an economic perspective
Calculate return on investment for technology proposals
Evaluate the effects of different funding sources for technology acquisition
Determine planning horizons and economic life of technology assets
