Introduces students to major types of organizational information systems and their development and use.

Pre-requisites and Co-requisites:
No specific prerequisite

Curriculum Role:
This is a required course for BSIS, and  BSIT students. This course is usually taken in the beginning of freshman year. 

Course Rationale:
This course aims at bringing all students to a level of familiarity with software products and information systems that will be necessary throughout the program.

Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, a student will be able to:
• Operate several microcomputer software products
• List basic functions of major types of organizational information systems
• Explain uses of major types of organizational information systems
• Describe the process of developing information systems
• Distinguish different types of information systems
