Curriculum Role:
This course is required for BSIS and BSIT majors. It is part of a multi-term capstone experience.
Course Rationale:
Most IT projects are team efforts, and so development of skills needed to work successfully on a team is essential for IS and IT students. This course provides an opportunity for students to integrate material from prior courses with a project that spans major phases of the IT project life cycle. It also provides additional experience with working in teams, and a chance to deal with a large scale problem than can be addressed in a single term or by a single student.
Course Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, a student will be able to:
Outline and construct requirements and design specifications and other key IT documents
Work effectively as a team member on an IT project
Apply appropriate methodologies and development tools in an IT project
Plan and execute the phases of a medium sized IT project
