BS/MS Student Admission Process

BSIS or BSIT
BSSE

BSIS or BSIT Admissions Process

Students applying to the iSchool's BSMS program in BSIS or BSIT must:
  1. Complete the BS/MS application found on the iSchool website under "Useful Forms."
  2. Meet with an academic advisor to determine a "Plan of Study" using the pathfinder for the BS/MS program on the iSchool website. Note: iSchool policy states that students can not register for more than 20 credits per term unless they are a graduating senior.
  3. Obtain a letter of recommendation from at least one full-time iSchool faculty member.
  4. Have completed foundation courses in their degree program by the end of the term in which application is made. For the BSIS/BSIT, these courses are:
ISYS 101 Introduction to Information Systems I
ISYS 102 Introduction to Information Systems II
ISYS 105 Information Resources & Their Use
ISYS 110 Human-Computer Interaction
ISYS 200 Systems Analysis I
ISYS 210 Database Management Systems

Important information
It is imperative that once in the BS/MS program the student complete both degrees at the same time. If during the program the student decides to complete the undergraduate degree before the graduate degree, this will have billing ramifications and the student will need to withdraw from the dual degree program by sending an e-mail to her advisor. Furthermore, if the student wishes to continue graduate level courses, he/she would need to formally apply to the graduate program through graduate admissions.

BSSE Admissions Process

SE 101 Foundations of Software Engineering I
SE 102 Foundations of Software Engineering II
SE 103 Foundations of Software Engineering III
SE 210 Software Specification and Design I
SE 211 Software Specification and Design II
