The College offers a variety of options that provide an opportunity for those holding a master's degree in any field to update their education or develop new expertise.

Post-Masters Specialist Program

The five-course Post-Master's Specialist Program is available to those already holding a master's degree who wish to further focus their studies in a specific subject area. Post-master's Specializations are available in:
Advanced Certificate in Information Studies and Technology

The Advanced Certificate in Information Studies and Technology is a non-degree program that provides specialized training beyond the master's degree. Advanced Certificate students work with a faculty advisor to design a practical program of study that provides new skills. The program is not research oriented, nor intended to provide credits that can be applied toward doctoral studies.

Certificate in Healthcare Informatics

This comprehensive certificate program is designed for information professionals, clinical personnel and healthcare support personnel who want to increase their knowledge of health information technology and management of the complex social and organizational issues surrounding this major change in healthcare. 

This online certificate program will provide an intensive introduction to the evolving field of Medical/Health Informatics.  The goal of the Certificate in Healthcare Informatics is to provide knowledge and skills in the application of information technology (IT) in the provision of healthcare. 

The curriculum for the Certificate in Healthcare Informatics includes courses on organizational and sociological issues and clinical information technology as well as an introductory class.

Post-Master's Study

In addition, individuals who already hold a master's degree in Information Systems or Library and Information Science from Drexel University may take selected courses for graduate credit by contacting the College at 215-895-2474.

Special Continuing Education Discount for iSchool Alumni

The iSchool at Drexel is pleased to announce a NEW discount for iSchool alumni. iSchool non-matriculated master’s program alumni are invited to register for open seats in our online courses at a 50% discount.

Learn about some of the newest trends in information systems and library and information science or explore a new area of interest. Alumni are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to expand their knowledge within the field, and cultivate new skills. Courses are available in such areas as web architecture, digital libraries, healthcare informatics, archival management and beyond.

Only two successfully completed courses can be transferred into any other iSchool graduate program or certificate program.

Alumni may take up to two discounted courses per year. 

Individuals who already hold a masters degree from Drexel University in Information Systems or Library and Information Science may take selected courses for graduate credit by contacting their advisor.
