Practicum

The iSchool offers a Practicum that provides the opportunity to gain credit for work experience along with associated academic coursework.

This online course enables a student to use his or her current job or obtain a job/internship in their field of study to earn 3 elective credits. Students are responsible for obtaining their practicum jobs.  To search for jobs and internships, click here.

The course requires 120 hours of work over the 10-week quarter, along with online class participation.

How to Apply

Students applying must:

1. Have completed at least 24 credit hours.

2. Have 6 or fewer credits from work experience. Click here for details.  NOTE: Students cannot, in sum, have more than 9 credits of work experience count toward their degree program.  Therefore, credits for this course will not count toward the degree program for students who have already received 9 credits for prior work experience.

3. Have submitted to Jennifer Lally a completed iSchool Practicum Application Form. All applications must be submitted one week before the beginning of the semester.
